Week 14 Update

Whoa! been a bit busy this week and have not had time to post so grab a chair cause it's going to be a long one.

Friday

We kicked off the Labor Day weekend last Friday with a free concert at the Blackhawk Plaza with band Pride & Joy which I love. Olivia, Phil and I met at 5 for some Mexican food and then waited for Rocky, Meenu, Chris and Rodney to meet up with us after they got off work. The place was PACKED and the band had the whole place dancing. We had a great time hanging out and listening to the music. The weather was a bit warm but it was the perfect Friday evening out.

Saturday

A day in Sonoma. We decided to spend the day at Chateau St. Jean in Sonoma on Saturday. We decided to head up early so that we can enjoy our time up there instead of having to rush like we usually do after training. Olivia met us at our house, we stopped by the deli shop to pick up sandwiches and off we went. The traffic was HORRIBLE so it was good we left a little earlier cause it took us 2 hours to get there :o( Once we arrived we found a nice shaded table under the trees and we pretty much sat there for oh 4-5 hours. It was perfect. We had lunch, munched on cheese & crackers and drank some yummy wine. Although the drive was long it was a very nice mellow afternoon just hanging out. On our way home we stopped at the Sonoma Plaza for some ice cream :o) We manged to make it back in an hour, much better and then the rest of the evening we just relaxed.

Sunday

Another early start and we were headed to Granite Bay to my brother/sister-in-laws house and the rest of the family. We again spent another day having yummy bbq food and doing pretty much nothing :o) it was great. My other sister-in-law and I spent the entire day plopped on a couch chatting. It was a lot of fun. We decided to head home so we wouldn't get stuck in the traffic on Monday. Got home fairly late but no biggie, no work on Monday :o) YAY!

Monday

We got to sleep in, we ran a bunch of errands and we cleaned our house. We had invited Olivia, Lindsay, Meenu and Chris over for a mellow afternoon bbq. We actually decided to go with a Mexican feast and we got lots of yummy food from the Mexican Carniceria, it was delicious. We spent the afternoon enjoying our feast, chatting, laughing and playing a game of Craninum. I was on the losing team but no biggie we had a great time :o)

Tuesday

Back to work and back to tranining. Coach Paul once again tried to kill us. It's two weeks before our race and we are still doing pretty high intensity workouts. I swam 3200 yards which is 1.8 miles.yikes! I was determined to get it done though and I did :o) Yay me!

Thursday
