Doggie Trouble

My dog is crazy, I've known that for a while but there are some days when he acts 10 times worse than others. Olivia and I usually give Patch his dinner at the same time we eat dinner so he won't bug us and it usually works out well. He isn't allowed to eat people food but he still barks at us while we are eating which is annoying. I just switched Patch to adult food so now he eats his food in about 2 seconds cause it's new and exciting. Last night by the time i got home Patch had eaten his food and we hadn't so when it was time for us to eat he barked and barked and barked :o( I decided to put him in his doggie condo which is in my room, it's what he sleeps in. About 10 minutes later I hear a scratching at the door.....HE GOT OUT....what? We go investigate and sure enough he had stuck his paws through the very tiny space in between the two zippers and got himself out.

He then proceeded to tear apart a present I had sitting on the floor of my bedroom. I had already put the present in a bag and stuffed the bag with tissue. He decided that he was mad for being put in the room so he tore the bag and tissue apart.

He's lucky he didn't rip the present or he'd be in BIGGER trouble. So out of the room and into his play pen he went where he stayed until I finished dinner and finished winding up all my new yarn :o) That was the highlight of my night, winding up and feeling all my new pretty soft yarn.

This is a picture of our knitting area, not where knit but where we keep all our stuff. See all the bins under the table? Those hold all our pretty yarn that is just waiting to be used up and made into pretty projects :o) Maybe next week I'll show you what's inside. The tote bags on top hold our needles and current projects. Tonight we have knitting night and I think I may work on a few things that aren't complete. Like adding the straps to my booga bag, sewing the buttons on my clutch and the flower on my bell hat.

Knitting, Funerals and Arcade Games

First of all....GO AWAY RAIN!! I know we need it to rain but I am sick of being cold and wet and cold :o(

Anyway, this weekend was a busy one. Most of it was fun but Saturday we attended a funeral and those are never fun.

Stitches West was this weekend. For us knitters it's like being a kid in a candy store except all that candy is replaced by aisles and aisles of YARN. It was a bit overwhelming at first but it was exciting to see all the different kinds of yarns that are out there. I was a good girl and didn't spent my entire paycheck out there. I only got a few things but was happy with my purchases. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

The not so fun part was the funeral on Saturday. My friend, Sabrina, lost her daughter to lupus. She had fought for many many years and finally lost the battle. It was a long but very nice service at a church in Berkeley. Church capacity was 600 and every seat in the church was taken and people were also standing. She was very loved and will be dearly missed. It was to hectic for me to spend any time with Sabrina and her girls so I'm hoping to get to their house later on this week to visit them.

Yesterday, we hung out with antoher TNT couple and went to Dave & Buster's in Milpitas. Dave & Busters is like a Chuck E. Cheese for adults although they do allow kids there as long as they are accompanied by someone 30 years or older. Yeah right, those kids were running around that place like crazy. Anyway, we had a great time and I won 831 towards a prize. I am such a kid.

Today it's back to work and it's gonna be another busy week. I'm looking forward to Stitch-n-Bitch on Wednsday with Amy and Olivia. I'm sure Ms. Amy will have show and tell with all her pretty new yarn she got at Stitches West.

Quick Update

I am back, I am pooped and I gained back the 2 lbs I lost last week BUT we had a great time in Vegas. Only real celebrity we saw was Wil-i-am from the Black Eyed Peas. I got a pic of him while he was posing with someone else. We didn't ask him to take a picture of us cause he was getting irritated :o( oh well. Other than that saw a few basketball players but I have no clue who they are.

The MotherHumbuckers

This Oakland band is called the MotherHumbuckers because their guitars have humbucker pickups on them and because, as they proclaim: "We are bad mother ... well, you get the idea." Their story starts in the early '90s, when Jose Marco and Rocky Reyes started "shredding" together in high school while in a band called Mutt. A few years after that band was put to sleep, Ollie Pabonan hooked up with Reyes and shared his silky, soulful vocals. The Pabonan-Reyes duo sharpened its sound with acoustic covers and originals. A few phone calls and a couple of bribes later, Marco made his way back behind the drum kit, bringing Martin Reyes (Rocky's brother) with him on bass. Before long, all electric hell broke loose.

Lineup: Jose Marco on drums; Martin Reyes on bass guitar; Ollie Pabonan and Rocky Reyes on guitars and vocals.

1. The MotherHumbuckers' music should be filed between:
Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lenny Kravitz. We all came from such different musical interests, ranging from Aaliyah to Zeppelin, A-ha, to ZZ Top. Our sound blends the blues, rock, funk and soul all into one. Some more subtle than others, of course.

2. The soundtrack to what movie would your music best match?

The next James Bond film. The ups and downs, drama and humor of Bond films seem like a good match to our set list. Plus, Bond girls.

3. If you could collaborate on a song with any person, living or dead, who would that be?

Prince. The underrated yet overstated guitarist makes his axes wail. He puts such emotion into his playing and his is truly a musical genius. Not to mention -- that scene with Apollonia in "Purple Rain."

4. If a junior high school asked you to play a cover song at the next talent show, what song and school would you choose?

"You May Be Right," by Billy Joel -- probably because of the lyrics. We do a rocked-out, intense version of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Otherside" that our adult fans enjoy. But for the students at Garnet J. Robertson Intermediate School or Fernando Rivera Intermediate School (both in Daly City), we'd have to go with something humorous, yet poignant.

5. What is the meaning of life?

Do what you have to do. Do what you love to do. Strive to make them one and the same.

Martin, Jose, Ollie & Rocky

V is for Valenine's Day and Vegas :o)

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day :o)

Last month Rocky and I decided to head to Vegas with the rest of his bandmates and their wives this weekend. When we booked the trip we did it because his mom and dad were going to be there for a convention and we could get a good deal on a room and because it'd be fun for all of us to go. About 2 or 3 weeks ago Rocky saw a commercial on TV which explained why hotel rooms were priced so high (we got ours comped, phew!) and why there weren't many options on flights back and forth to Vegas.

What's the reason? NBA ALL-STAR WEEKEND!!!!

WHOOPS, I guess if I watched basketball I'd be in the loop. I thought it was just a busy weekend because Monday is a holiday for some peeps. We are leaving at 6am on Saturday morning and returning on Sunday night. Luckily we have Monday off and we can recover from what I'm sure will be a busy but fun filled weekend. The one thing that Rocky and I really wanted to do was go see the Pussycat Dolls perform. Their lounge is located inside the nightclub PURE at Caesars Palace. I found out over the weekend that Eva Longoria and Tony Parker are hosting a party there :o) So I am really hoping that we are able to get into the club. I am not sure what their policy is for special events but I do happen to have a VIP Pass for PURE so I'm hoping I can use it to get in. And I am crossing my fingers that we get to see some celebrities and of course I'll be taking pictures and posting them on Monday :o) Happy celebrity hunting to me :o)

Update #2 for Monday

So I had to update cause I found this funny.

I was on my way out the door for lunch when the phone rang and it was a private caller. I almost didn't answer cause I didn't know who it was but I did.

I was on my way to lunch and I was planning on running some errands and then hitting McDonalds because for some wierd reason I was craving chicken mcnuggets. Yeah, not very healthy at all but then again I haven't eaten very well since Thanksgiving :o( I don't think I can even count on one hand the number of times I've cooked dinner since then either. Anyway, I have been really bad and I can feel it in my clothes and see it my pictures.

Anyway, back to the phone call, it was my Weight Watchers leader, Julia. She was calling to find out if I was going to be in today.....I think that was my sign that I needed to get my butt back there. She has NEVER called to see if I'll be going to a meeting. So much for that happy meal :o(

So as of tomorrow, I have to go grocery shopping today, I will be back on Weight Watchers and I hope that I can stick to it. I have 2 months 2 weeks and 2 days to get myself into a bathing suit for my vacation but I also just need to feel better. My clothes are too tight again and I'm just hating looking at pictures of myself cause I have chipmunk cheeks :o( So here it is.....I would like to lose 15lbs. and NO, I will not disappear if I lose 15lbs., in fact with that weight lose I will still be 15lbs heavier than I was 6 years ago. I was too skinny back then so losing 15lbs will put me at a good weight. Of course tonight's dinner won't be too healthy since it'll be my last bad meal...hee, hee. I'll have to think of something yummy to eat.

Much Better :o)

I am feeling much better. I still have baby sniffles but I feel so much better than last week. The cough is also gone...YAY! I had a fairly mellow weekend. Saturday morning I was up at 6:30am :O( to take my car in for it's first oil change. Those guys at Honda are super nice and pretty fast. I thought it was gonna cost an arm and a leg cause I was getting my oil changed at the dealership but it was just as much as Jiffy Lube. I would much rather take it to Honda. We had some breakfast while we waited and then went home and took a nap :o) Then it was off to run some errands and have lunch. We didn't stay out too long cause it was pouring rain and we were getting soaked everytime we got out of the car. So we went home and knitted for the rest of the afternoon. I am almost done with another hat and I started my fingerless gloves. I may need Ms. Amy's help though once I get to the thumbs. I am a little confused. I am making my next few projects in TNT colors so I can wear them out to the runs.


Sunday, it was another early day. The coached run was on Sunday instead of Saturday so I was up at 5:30 am. The run was in Walnut Creek and then the team had to attend Run University. On one day the participants attend various clinics about nutrition, shoes/clothes, injury prevention and at the end they get a little diploma. It was a long day but it was a fun morning and we were all decked out in our red and pink for Valentine's day.

Cough!Sniffle!Cough!Sniffle!

That continues to be the story of my life :o( What I thought was a cold did turn out to be a cold/flu thing. I went big time downhill on Sunday afternoon and spent Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in bed with a fever and trying not to lose a lung. Wedensday I made it to work but my boss sent me home around 3 :O( so back to the couch I went. I am feeling much better but I am still pretty congested and can't shake this cough. I also feel sick to my stomach from all the medicines I've consumed in the last week. Whatever is going around is horrible. So many people I know are sick and not just with a cold but with this icky string of the flu that brings with it body aches and fevers. The poor dental assistant at my dentist office called to cancel my appt yesterday, which I wasn't sad about, but she was on her way to the ER with a 104 fever. YIKES! This weekend is going to be a mellow one so I plan on just taking it easy and hopefully the last of this bug will go away. I'm tired :o( I haven't been sleeping cause of the cough and I'm just plain tired of not feeling myself. Sorry for the whiney blog entry but I feel blah :o(

Could it be......

........a COLD????? This morning I woke up coughing, so far that's my only symptom other than feeling a little slow and sleepy. My chest HURTS when I cough. Great just great. I had the stomah flu last week and now it looks like I'm headed for a chest cold. I am not a happy camper. I want it to be nice an warm so I can stop getting sick. Summer brings allergies but I'll take a few itchy eyes over all of this other yucky stuff. I talked to Rocky last night and he wasn't sounding good either in fact I think he stayed home from work today because he wasn't feeling good.

GO AWAY GERMS AND BUGS AND ICKY STUFF :o( not a good way to start my busy weekend :o(
